Here are some of the benefits that you will receive as a member of DACO:

1. Certification & Referrals: DACO, through DONA International, offers certification and training to its members. After completion of the DONA training members are encouraged to work toward certification by completing all DONA requirements (see DONA Birth Doula Certification Packet). While attending the three births required for certification you have the option of being apart of the apprenticeship program to help you gain experience. A member can also place herself on the referral list to obtain clients. We receive many calls from pregnant women who learn about doulas from their health care providers and/or childbirth educators.

2. DACO logo polo shirt: to be worn at all public functions when representing DACO Inc.

4. Membership In Our Yahoo Group: This is an online resource group that gives updated information of the groups current activities, meeting updates, birthing information, clients information, and is a way to communicate with other members of the group.

5. Group Membership in DONA International: Save money and join DONA as a DACO Member. For $25.00 you get a subscription to the International Doula, DONA's quarterly newsletter, as well as labor and postpartum doula referrals, at your request.

New Benefits:
To continue with the Doula Association of Central Oklahoma’s Mission Statement & Articles of Incorporation (Article V). We have opened up a new benefit to members:

You may apply to co-host a workshop in the state of Oklahoma with DACO. By doing this, we will be able to continue to offer the birthing women of Oklahoma trained and Certified Doulas, we will also be able to continue to offer Approved Advanced Doula Training CEU's for the Continued Education requirements for Doulas working to re-certify. If the following requirement are adhered to, than this will keep your workshop legal with the O.B.P.V.S.

O.B.P.V.S. Requirements:

• DACO sponsored workshop are not allowed to overlap in dates. (This applies statewide.)
• Membersip is required to attend any DACO or DACO co-hosted workshop.
• There will be a special “Workshop Registration Fee” of $25.00 for those who live outside the state of Oklahoma, only.
• All registration must take place through DACO. You may use Snail mail or the web site.
• All monies will have to go through the DACO Bank Account.
• Once Approved, DACO will carry out you fiscal arrangements only. DACO will not be responsible beyond that. The hosting member will be responsible for all physical arrangements, contracts with the trainer(s), information for web site, flyers and brochures.

DACO Limitations:

• DACO (only) sponsored workshops will have precedence.
• Membership does not guarantee approval for workshops.
